Marty and Miranda in Las Vegas

Kathy has been asking for a post about what we did when Marty and Miranda were here , I guess I better do it before I forget because it is all starting to run together. They got here Thursday about 11:00 am and we just hung out until Dan got home. Then we ate at Peppermill and went to see Penn and Teller that night. Friday, We went out to Chili's to celebrate Marty's birthday. We even had them sing to him. It was fun, and tasty. We were able to get free tickets to Carrot Top so we went to the Luxor to see him. Funny. Saturday Marty and Miranda and Nick went to see their friend from WOW that lives here. They had lunch with her. So Dan and I just had Pot Stickers (our new find from Costco) . We went to a dirty hypnosis show, and laughed a lot. Then the three of them took off to do their own thing for a while and Dan and I went and gambled a little and had a Mexican salad, and gambled a little more. We came out ahead. Miranda and I decided to go shopping without the guys since they weren't interested. We went to the outlet mall and had a ton of fun. So much fun that when we looked at the time it was too late to go home before we went to the Tournament of the Kings. So the guys met us there. We had dinner there since it is included. You have to eat everything with your hands. After that we went to X-Burlesque, for the guys. Monday morning we had to finish up shopping. The guys went with us but they left after a while. They rented a movie and got us all a Jamba juice and we all arrived back home about the same time. We watched The Princess Bride, an older movie that we hadn't seen and M and M wanted to share it with us. It was funny. After that we went to Jerry's Nugget to eat and gambled a little and went home. Tuesday we just hung out until they had to go. We were all exhausted, but had a great time! Some where in there we went to the Bellagio and saw the fountains at night. The end.

Our Enslow family reunion camping trip

Rilee with chocolate hands.
Erik fishing. After Marty, Miranda and Nick left we went to the stream and played. and sat.
Rilee playing in the water. I think this was just before she got a little deep and fell in. I'm glad Sonia was close and got to her quickly.
Rilee looking adorable.
Sonia playing with Brooklyn and Rilee.

Brooklyn and Rilee with their scarves that Miranda made for them while at the camp out. They were very soft and the girls loved them.
Brooklyn by the stream.
Another one of Sonia with the girls.
Rilee sitting with granddad.
Brooklyn looking adorable.
Sonia with the girls.
Miranda enjoying camping. This was her first campout. I'm not sure if it will be a regular new hobby but I think she had some fun.
Granddad with his adorable granddaughters. It was getting a little cold so they got warmed up.
Marty and Miranda both enjoying camping. Miranda was ambitious and crocheted some scarves.
Nick setting up his tent with Brooklyn supervising. Lucky she was there to help. I forgot the stakes.
Erik and Marty barbecuing the hamburgers on Erik's cool portable propane barbecue. They did a great job.
Rilee in the tent. Kids love tents. Until it's time to go to sleep at night. Then I think they miss their beds. So do I.
Nick relaxing after working long hours and finally getting the lay off he requested.
Another of Rilee in the tent. She is so beautiful.
Brooklyn with Nick. The girls really enjoyed Uncle Nicky.

Granddad and Brooklyn. He helped her to roast marshmallows that Nicky gladly ate.
Miranda and their dog Sammy with Brooklyn. The dog wasn't used to kids and wasn't sure if they were safe.
Here is one of my friend on my shoulder. It was a pretty cool bug and it stayed there for quite a while. Later in the day he returned and someone killed him before I could stop them.
Brooklyn rode with me to the airport to pick up Nick and Dan. We shopped, picked up some stuff from Erik and Sonia's apt. , and then went to the airport. She was so cute when we went into Walmart I asked if she wanted a cookie ,which they give to kids there. While we were walking over there she said, "they have popcorn chicken here too." So we got some popcorn chicken since we hadn't had time for breakfast before we left. She ate them while we shopped. Then she was thirsty and picked out something to drink. We had fun.
Another. We had time to kill while we sat in the cell phone waiting area for the plane.
Rilee in her cute hat, being a cutie. She is such a sweetheart. This was the first time I had seen her when she could call me Nana. It just is so sweet when you hear them call you. I sure love the girls. Somehow I can't click under the last two pictures so I guess I'll just finish up my typing here. It was so nice to have our whole family together. That hadn't happened since before Brooklyn was born, I don't think. We had plenty of good food. Thank-you everyone for the great time. I still have fun thinking about it and looking at the pictures.

Tagged by Trina:
I have just been recovering from being gone from home for almost 3 weeks and busy the whole time. I'm used to a pretty laid back lifestyle and it was very fun to see everybody. I had an amazing time but I'm exhausted! Also I colored my hair dark the last night I was gone and have decided I hate it. I gave it time to get used to it and I am working on going back to blond. I tried yesterday but the normal color I usually do (which I had one of here) did not make much of a dent in the dark color I had done. I should be at the store right now getting lightest blond something. How do you remove the red out? would Ash blond be the best? Anyway onto the tag. I will blog about my trip later.

ABC tag

I worked on my ABC tag last night before we went to see Louis Anderson. I wasn't sure how good it was going to be but I really enjoyed it. Very funny! Dan started work this am. He is going to be doing a couple weeks of 7-12's, which means he's working from 5am to 5:30 pm every day until they get a job done. Sunday is double time! He's making up for being off for 2 1/2 weeks. We really tried to enjoy his time off and not worry about him being off. He kept looking every other day or so and then we would go out and swim. We've learned to enjoy his time off because when he does work he works long hours usually. Now I know I will have money to spend when I come up north so I'm happy :). I'm thinking of leaving here on Wednesday, staying the night and morning in Goldendale, and maybe heading up to Vancouver on Thursday afternoon. I better sew today. Well here is my ABC tag. I decided to do it with the theme of Las Vegas. I'm not really familiar with each one of these these for myself but I put lots of stuff in so you get a little picture of what Vegas is about.

Crazy people in hot tubs and other ramblings.

I just thought I would make some comments about the weather. It did sound wonderful when Trina mentioned the high would be 92*. We really do have sucky weather right now. and for about 2-3 months. I really would rather spend the summer up there. (I'll be there for a couple weeks soon). The thing I really want to say is that the people who grew up here are crazy! At least according to us. For instance, We are out in the pool, which is very warm. We can't even lay on our air mattresses to sunbathe without putting water on ourselves all the time and guess what? There are people in the Hot Tub! I kid you not. I just can't fathom even going in the hot tub at night here since the coolest it gets is about 85*. But this is when the temperature is already above 100* and climbing. They also jog in this weather. The tourists are not much smarter. There are always tons of people walking down the Las Vegas strip in this hot weather. Nick works in it every evening and last night when he came home I asked him how he was and he started laughing about something they had done at work. He never complains about the heat. He's young. This is the 3rd summer he's worked in it, I guess he is becoming a Las Vegan although I don't think he'll be hot tubbing any time soon. I get by on air conditioning.

My friend, Barb, called the other day and mentioned camp meeting. We used to go and camp and spend the week there when the kids were little. We all had fun then but I really have no idea why. The only thing I missed when she mentioned it was the Pronto pups. (corn dogs made with vegetarian hot dogs. eaten with tartar sauce. Well, I decided that I would make some. I had Big Franks, corn meal, etc. I made tartar sauce , mixed up the batter, heated up some oil in my electric wok and a few minutes later (or pronto) -Pronto pups!. Dan and Nick both said they were even better than what we used to have at camp meeting and they didn't have to stand in line.

I went and bought some material and pattern last night. I need a dress for the wedding I'm going to and can't seem to find anything I like. This is probably a mistake. I haven't sewed for a while. After sleeping on it I decided the pattern I got is not the best. There are no darts so it would probably be shapeless. I love the neckline but not sure how to put some shape in it so maybe I will take it back. Patterns are sure expensive. It was 40% off and still cost $10.00. Oh, well will keep you posted on how it turns out.

I think I will get a little more sleep since I didn't get to bed until after midnight last night. We watched a movie. bye.

PIctures

Our sandcastle.
Cirque de le mere
The forest that I made using the drip method.
water is in the moat.
Sunset, It wasn't as pretty as when we were there in February.
This was just one of many yachts we saw. It had a helicopter on the back. Obviously a lot of rich people there.
Shamu! Well, one of them, Nick said that last time we were here, when he was a kid, It was the real shamu.

Jumping waves. We didn't get too deep since Nick hadn't brought a change of clothes.

Nick slept part of the way there, (and back)

San Diego has beautiful flowers, here are a
couple pictures of them,

Aren't they cool?

Nick looking much better awake. We were
waiting. Dan was nice enough to drop us off
and go park the car. He had to walk about 1/2
mile back to us. Then we walked a ways to
where people said the fireworks were and
ended up 2 blocks from where the car was
parked. LOL

We saw lots of interesting sea vessels. Downtown
San Diego was across the bay.

San Diego is a friendly town!

I have pictures but Nick is at work and I haven't learned how to do it so the easiest way is to just have Nick help me. He makes it seem easy. Hopefully he'll help me tomorrow.

Friday was fun after the long 5 hr. trip down. We tried to go to Spaghetti Factory on the way down but they were closed for the holiday. We were very disappointed. After we checked into the motel, we went to Hometown buffet. It was a good meal but no S. F. After that we thought we better get to where the fireworks were going to be so we could find a place to park. We were on Coronado Island by the bay on a pier. We carried our chairs and sat and watched people. People are friendly in San Diego. We notice friendly people since we have lived in Las Vegas. Las vegans are not, as a rule, friendly. Nick and I miss that, so we enjoyed people watching and smiling at people. At 9:00 pm, on time, they started the fireworks and they were wonderful! for at least 20 mins.

On Sat. morn. we headed to SeaWorld. The first thing we did was go to the Shamu show. It was great. Then we went to the new show, cirque de le mere. It was an acrobatic show on the water. Interesting, OK. I liked Shamu better. We then tried to go on the Raft ride but it was an hour wait so we decided we didn't want to go . Nick was fighting a bug all last week and wasn't feeling real good so we decided we'd come back to Seaworld when there weren't so many people. We all have annual passes so we are going to be going back to S.D. a few more times. It was so nice to enjoy the cool air. I actually got cold in the evening. Nice. We drove back up about 40 miles to Spaghetti Factory and got out mizithra fix. Then we went to the beach on Coronado Island. We played in the waves for a while. Fun!. then we played in the sand. I will post pictures later. We stayed until the tide came and ruined our sandcastles.

Sunday we had planned to go to seaworld early so we could ride the rides without waiting in line so long, but when Nick woke up he said he had a sore throat and didn't want to so we slept a little more and got up , got ready and headed back.

It is much more fun to spend holidays with a bunch of family but we managed to have fun anyway. I will try to get pictures tomorrow. We are now back in the heat, 105* and we went swimming and sunbathing. Bye for now.

I've been tagged

Ten years ago:
None of the boys had even started academy and our life was fairly uncomplicated. I hadn't returned to work yet. I was enjoying biking

5 things on today's to do list:
bathe-as opposed to shower, because I have to shave my legs. (the only bad thing about swimming all the time)
2. clean the house- all of it since they are coming for their 3 month check today after 1:00pm.
3. go to ABC- I'm almost out of Wham.
4. swim-exercise.
5. mix some paint the color of the walls because we had an accident with the towel rack in our bathroom and it had a big hole. Dan fixed the hole but now it needs paint and get the towel rack up so they won't notice it when they come to inspect. I better do that right away so it has time to dry.

Snacks I enjoy
popcorn at the theater with butter and apple cinnamon topping!-yum
mint truffles
licorice ice cream
I love food!

Things to do if I were a millionaire:
The boys get 10% each. Then depending on how much, help as much family as I can and maybe buy a big house in the Carribean for party central. I love the sun. Ask Kathy and Cameo to help me with charities. :)

5 people I'm tagging
Miranda, Erik, Nick, Asa and Valentina ( Ha Ha Trina and Cameo) Hey Sonia, you haven't done it yet. Kathy tagged you or I would have.

Hi! I'm finally starting my blog

This may be boring, and rambling, but I decided to start my blog so you can keep up on my life. I know I sure enjoy reading all your blogs so here I go. Last night we went to a comedy hypnotist show. It was pretty funny. While we were waiting to go in we played a little on slots and ended up being up by about $15.00. That is a good night on slots. We have been enjoying the pool while Dan has been off for a week. When I go out I do about 45 mins. of aerobic exercise and then enjoy the pool and lay on my air mattress and sunbathe and look at "my" palm tree.

Nick is sick today so he is planning on staying home from work. He has been having to work from noon to 10 pm. It has been105*-110* for at least 2 weeks now. He doesn't complain about the heat. He's young. I'm glad we have Nick here with us. We enjoy his company and his help with the computer. He goes to the movies with us when it is a movie he wants to see. He doesn't like the scary ones. He's smart. I like some scary ones but I don't like gore. I like suspense with twists. It is 10:30 am and it is already 98*. I got a thermometer to put outside on my patio.

We are planning on going to San Diego for the fourth of July holiday weekend. The cooler weather and the ocean is calling me. Also Shamu. Dan and I bought annual passes when we went this spring so Nick is the only one who will have to pay unless our silver passes get a guest in. I can't remember.

Well I've rambled enough for now so I will go for now. Bye.
